We had an amazing time at the IBC Convention 2022 in Amsterdam, connecting and reconnecting with partners, customers, colleagues, and friends. audio media service Produktionsges. mbH & Co. KG (ams) is a long-running aixtream customer. They have used and tested aixtream software for a variety of applications. Currently, their main use for aixtream is as a system for DMZ-based input of audio files from the internet, which are then streamed into their internal network via RTP. The use of aixtream in a DMZ also benefits from its extensive security and network configuration features. Running a complex network is often a difficult task, but aixtream helps the user with exhaustive options for configuration and analysis of network traffic and handling.

Software upgrade – aixtream v3.0 was released with support for SRT, DAB, MPE encapsulation and more.

Fitting a major capstone release, the newest version 3.0 expands the possibilities of aixtream with a broad range of new functionalities and supported formats. Furthermore, it lays the groundwork for even more additions coming later this year. We promise you that by the end of the year, aixtream will be closer to the ideal of “any live audio” than ever before.

The highlights of version 3.0 are the following new features:

• SRT input and output (Secure Reliable Transport)
• SNMP monitoring (Simple Network Management Protocol) up to v3
• DAB reception and transcoding
• DVB MPE (Multiprotocol Encapsulation ETSI EN 301 192)

Audio Codec Servers – All the advantages of aixtream software in a convenient hardware package

One of the most forward-thinking features of aixtream COMPACT software is the option to quickly connect with the management and maintenance UI using the Wifi of your mobile devices. QR codes present on the ACS simplify the access further. A technician can scan the QR code to make a hassle-free link and begin monitoring and configuration of the ACS on their mobile device with the same aixtream GUI they are used to. It is an alternative to outdated front panel controls, and it ensures you can use all of the audio codec’s functions without a computer and avoids the various limitations of conventional front panel controls. A final benefit is the lessened energy consumption. Always nice for the environment and your electricity bill. Our Audio Codec Servers (ACS) are ready for the future!

The MINI ACS has also a cool feature that allows to connect two USB headsets directly to it and use it as reporter unit. Together with a smartphone or tablet for control via the easy-to-use UI, it is a powerful and feature-complete reporter audio codec.

Aktuell benutzen sie aixtream in der DMZ hauptsächlich, um Audiodateien aus dem Internet zu ziehen und dann in ihr internes Netz per RTP zu streamen. Der Einsatz in einer DMZ profitiert von aixtreams umfangreichen Netzwerk- und Sicherheitsoptionen. Es ist oft schwierig ein komplexes Netzwerk zu unterhalten, aber aixtream macht es dem User so einfach wie möglich, dank umfangreicher Optionen zur Konfiguration und Analyse des Netzwerk, einschließlich Traffic und Routing.

Audio Codec Server – Alle Vorteile von aixtream-Software als komplette Hardwarelösung

Eine der fortschrittlichsten Features von aixtream COMPACT ist die Möglichkeit, mit Mobilgeräten direkt per WLAN auf die UI zwecks Wartung und Monitoring zuzugreifen. QR-Codes auf den ACS machen den Zugriff noch einfacher. QR-Codes auf den Geräten vereinfachen den Zugriff, da die Techniker einfach den QR-Code scannen und so umstandslos auf das Gerät zuzugreifen können — mit derselben GUI, die sie vom Zugriff per Browser kennen. Sag "Tschüss!" zu altmodischer Front-Panel-Steuerung und deren Einschränkungen. Steuere das Audiocodec genauso wie am Computer und ohne auf irgendwelche Funktionen verzichten zu müssen. Außerdem hilft es durch verringerten Energieverbrauch. Was natürlich immer nett ist für die Umwelt und Ihre Stromrechnung. Unsere Audiocodec-Server (ACS) sind bereit für die Zukunft!
