Ferncast will host a free webinar on podcasting in radio workflows on April 7, 2022, at 12 pm.

Ferncast, developer of innovative audio transmission software solutions for professional live audio applications, will be hosting a free webinar aimed at the rapidly growing podcasting market. It will take place on April 7th, 2022, with the title “How to integrate podcasting into your radio station’s workflow with aixtream software.”

Ferncast’s audio experts will present the benefits of using aixtream software for audio on demand and discuss how podcasting fits into radio strategy. They will demo aixtream, a scalable software solution running as server or VM installation, and they will be available for a live Q&A session about new developments in audio technology.

In addition, guest speaker Gernot Link from Deutschlandradio will explain how the German broadcaster integrated audio-on-demand encoding into its radio station workflows, demonstrating a real-life success story.

Deutschlandradio has implemented the aixtream on-demand option in 2021 to automate the encoding for delivery of audio content fitted to its native products like the Dlf-Audiothek app and websites. At the broadcaster’s three stations, Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and Deutschlandfunk Nova, about 300-600 audio files a day are exported by the broadcast-processing and handed over to the aixtream installations for sound processing and encoding. Besides progressive media downloads, Deutschlandradio also delivers segmented on-demand content via HLS. Enabled by aixtream and the availability of xHE-AAC decoder through Android 9 and iOS 14 devices, Deutschlandradio plans to use Fraunhofer’s latest coding technologies to deliver xHE with CMAF for live and on-demand streaming.

The topics covered in this webinar also include the following:

  • Audio on demand processing for podcasting and media libraries
  • Audio on demand with HLS/Dash, RTMP and CMAF
  • Setting up your own audio on demand systems with both ingest and output fully under your control

A recording will be sent to all registrants afterwards.
