Ferncast, the audio logistics company specialized in 24/7 software solutions, will present its latest innovations at the Hamburg Open 2024, a German trade show dedicated to broadcast and AV technology.
Ferncast core product, aixtream software has matured greatly over the last 5 years. It now contains more than 30 feature modules, covering advanced encoding algorithms (including xHE AAC, Dolby AC-3, and others), webradio, DVB de/muxing, Podcast encoding, DAB/FM monitoring, SIP/WebRTC and so much more. Now aixtream installations exists around the globe for various applications. It runs as server appliance on bare metal, as virtual machine, or containerized on AWS and other cloud computing services.
With the new cloud services Ferncast offers the customers direct and hassle-free access to aixtream’s capabilities with a minimum of overhead. Customers do not need to rent server access or handle installation and setup. Everything needed to get started is provided by Ferncast. If desired, Ferncast even handles everything for the customer, including operation and monitoring of the installation. This service will be available as monthly subscription in Q2 2024.
At the Hamburg Open 2024, Ferncast experts will also showcase the new fernReport, a next-generation reporter codec designed for audio reporting in the field, live sports commentary and more. It is a compact solution, which combines aixtream software and the new RasPad 3, a portable Raspberry Pi Tablet.
